Girl Time!!!

This last saturday was a day well needed. I was able to go spend some "girl" time with the women who mean the most to me in my life. Not all were able to attend due to travel distances but most were able to make it. It was a gorgeous spring day...the sun was shinning, there was a slight breeze in the air, and we were headed to catheys valley for an annual spring event held by a lady from our church. Her name is Teresa Anderson. She holds these annual spring events at her home every year  I believe for the past 8 years...and they are absolutly AMAZING! Not only is her events amazing but it's held at her gorgeous home up in the hills of catheys valley. When I mean gorgeous...I mean magazine dream house home on a 5 acre lot. My Dad actually told Teresa's husband one time " I think you are going to be distapointed when you get to heaven." Now I don't think that would be true lol but that just goes to show how amazingly beautiful her house it. Go to her blog site at the bottom of the page to learn more about the event recently held. This year she held what was titled "Vintage Spring Sorbet" As I am sure you can imagine everything was "Vintage" style. Let me take you on a short tour of it.

When we first arrived they had different areas though out her fromt yard that they had diplayed vintage style photo props to take some pictures of yourself or of friends. It went from vintage kites, to vintage style bikes, frames that hung from the trees to "frame" yourself, etc ect etc. We had a blast with that!!

Uuumm... can you tell we had a blast with that by the photo below?...LOL..WOW! Crazy girls. This is how we all get when we don't have any kids around. We all start to act like kids...LOVE IT!

They had plenty of things to do. After the fun "picture" taking was over. They had a bunch of different vintage crafts to do, fun shopping with many cute things to choose from, roasting marshmellow peeps (not pizzas...peeps...inside joke..lol), different varieties of yummy frozen sorbets to taste all day long if you'd like, yummy drink stands with added treats such as gumdrops, taffy, a cute garden area filled with vintage fun gardening decor, the cutest shed that I've ever seen she has all dressed up with adorable canopes, and so so much more.

They had a bunch of these cute flags hanging everywhere along with the vintage look of flowers in a mason jar.

There was even a cooking show taught by Chef Sam, her son. The appetizers he shared were...AMAZING!! I gotta get the recipes.

Then we made our way to have a fabulous professionlly catered lunch. Oh sooo yummy! I was too hungry to take pics of the lunch...sorry.

Last but definitly not least we were greeted by song writter and singer Mindy Gledhill!! I actually have never heard of her or her songs but alot of people there had. I have to say I bought 2 of her CD's while I was there. I like her alot. Her voice reminds me of Colbie Calliet a bit. Here is a couple of my favorite songs of hers...so far. Click on the highlighted links below.

Okay so I had to take a few pics of her. Isn't she a cutie?...I love her style...so stylish!!

What was so nice about this whole experiance is...you got all of this just for $30! I highly recommend you check out  Teresa Andersons Blog. As she holds these events annually just for women to get together and enjoy woman hood. I truly enjoyed this day with the women I love the most...I wish all  of you could have come...  We just might have to plan ahead of time next year in hopes we ALL can go. Thank you to the ladies who were able to make it..sure did make  for a fun, memorable day. Love You All and can't wait for next year!

My Sweet Savannah

I can remember the day you were born. You are what made me a Mommy for the first time 5 years ago today. I never knew how much love a mother could have for her child. Even after 5 years...my love for you my sweet Savannah has only grown. We have enjoyed watching you grow the past 5 years. From the very beginning you have had such a contagious smile and laugh. But what we loved the most was your little since of humor. You always had a way to put a smile on our face.

You are a  strong little girl. You have been and have seen through some rough challenges in just your short 5 years on this earth. I know our Heavenly Father sent you for a reason. He needs his strongest children in the last days and I believe you are one of them. We as your parents have seen the strength you have within yourself and the challenges you have already endured so far. You are an example to us and your little sister.

We are blessed to have your sweet spirit in our home.

Our family wouldn't be the same with out you. Love You and Happy 5th Birthday!
