Hawaii Trip

So it has been almost 2 months since Mike and I went on our Hawaii trip. I thought I better post some pictures since Umm..last time I posted on here was July. Oops! Anyhow, Mike and I had the privilage to go to Maui Hawaii back in October for 1 week with my parents. What a beautiful place it is. I have to admit though...I didn't spend much time taking very many pictures. Although there are alot posted on here...this shows probably only half of what we saw that week. I just really wanted to enjoy my time there instead of trying to cart my camera around everywhere and trying to make sure I got every little thing. Instead I got pictures of a few things to remind us of our trip and enjoyed the rest of our stay. Warning: my pictures do not do justice of how beautiful it is there. I think what I found interesting about Maui was with how small that island is...there were so many different feels to it. Such as on the road to HANA it felt as if we were in a tropical jungle. Then when Mike and I went up to the ziplines it felt as if we were in the mountains. Then of course when we headed to the beach..AHH...that felt like Hawaii. Every where we went was very interesting yet beautiful. I will take you on a short adventure of our stay.

We arrived to the airport saturday late morning. We spent that day getting our rental cars. Both couples had our own mustang convertable. By the way...a convertable is the ONLY way to go crusin' in hawaii...well according to us and my parents. It was beuatiful to soak up that hawiian sun all week cruisin' in our convertables ;) You won't regret it. After picking up our cars we just went tothe grocerie stores to stock up on our weekly treats. We went that night to a place called COCONUTS for dinner. They have the best fish tacos ever! They were actually rated #1 fish tacos in the states. It was a 17 ingredient fish taco with fresh mango. Mmm.. Yeah I didn't get a  pic of that either..sorry. Here were our rides for that week though. (of course... I got black ) ;)

Below photos are where we stayed. They had tennis courts, golf greens, swimming pool, board games, bbq pits etc. all there for you to use. It was so nice just chillin' in our bathrobes in peace and quiet with no children around, no schedules to be on, playing tennis right out side our room, swimming, playing board games, drinking Mom's iced cool drinks she made up that first day. Mine and Mikes favorite treat (No pic sorry) was the shaved ice there in Maui. Now that's a treat. They would put coconut icecream at the bottom of the cup, then add the shaved ice in whatever flavor you chose, then topped it with cream. Yes...YUM!

Next day was sunday. We went to a ward there. There the primary was presenting their SMP. So fun to watch. That was just a "CHILL" day. Took naps, hung out, planned out our week .Monday we all decided to go get a couples massage and do some shopping, trying out all the differnet resturants, etc.

Tuesday we did our road to HANA. This was something Dad really wanted to do. Glad we did it...however it was a loooong trip   took all day  ..I was glad we didn't have kids with us doing that...it was neat though. I was amazed at all the different looking flowers they had in hawaii.

We drank our first coconut on the way to Hana. I love coconut foods, etc...but We were not a huge fan of the actual coconut water. As you can see from Mike's reaction on his face :)

After that first Hike headed to Hana, Dad decided he was ready to be in his favorite position. Didn't have the guts to remind him we had a full day of this and that this was HIS idea ;) Poor Pops is getting old.

On the road to Hana we saw many things. I didn't get out to take pictures of everything simply because the roads were really small and very curvy. We saw the black pebble beach, waterfalls, interesting colorful bark on trees, banana and coconut trees, etc. The drive was beautiful.

Best of all....we ended with the most amazing site.....

alright your ready?...

Isn't it BEAUTIFUL?!....Yeah that's what we said. Way to go D-WOOD...D-wood was suppose to be leading us to some gorgeous water fall until...well...we hit this. LOL!!! Well, it at least gave us all a good laugh :) Especially when Mike started walking around taking pictures of mail boxes and odd things like that lol!

Following day I believe was Zipline. No pics for that. My camera was too big to take with us. I didn't want to risk dropping it 250feet in the air, flying 45 miles per hour on a 700foot length zipline. Mike and I really had alot of fun doing that. Mike was hilarious on it I must say!! Here is one video Mike got of me. (sorry about the side way view)

Following day was snorkling. Ok...now this view I promise is gorgeous! This was one of my favorite days just because of the gorgous clear blue water, along with the light brown sparkly soft sand. Snorkling was beautiful also. It felt as though we were swimming in a large aquarium (Ok I guess we kind of were) But it was neat seeing all the different types of fish and coral. Never got a chance to see a turtle but that was OK I was quite happy with what we did see that day..even though I got stung by a jellyfish and ended up in urgent care later that day I still think it was one of my favorites of the whole trip.

Isn't that water GORGEOUS?...

Ended the ride home that day in the convertible with a beautiful Hawiian sunset.

The following day was our last full day in Hawaii. Yes, like every good thing...must come to an end. By this day I was ready to come home and see our two beautiful girls though. I was glad we topped our trip off with a Hawaiian Luau. It ended our vaction just perfect. I highly recommend attending a hawaiian luau when you get a chance to go to hawaii. Just amazing!

So there is our trip to Maui Hawaii in a very BASIC nutshell. Like I said before pictures do not do justice of how beautiful that place really is but this will give you a 'feel" of what it was like. I can't wait to go again with my whole family next time.
